My friend and i decided we want to run a half marathon before the end of the year 🤪
i have never ever considered myself a runner. My New Year’s resolution was to register and run a 5k. And while i still intend to do this, training for it has been loads of fun. I find an escape in running and i now consider myself a runner🤭
I’m a beginner with little long distance experience. I have run 5 miles three times in my life and that’s the furthest I’ve ever gotten😂 so come train with me!
1. **Week 1-4: Foundation Phase**
- Monday: 3 miles easy run
- Wednesday: 4 miles with some pick-ups
- Friday: 3 miles easy run
- Sunday: 5 miles long run
2. **Week 5-8: Building Distance**
- Monday: 4 miles easy run
- Wednesday: 5 miles with intervals
- Friday: 4 miles easy run
- Sunday: 7 miles long run
3. **Week 9-12: Introducing Speed**
- Monday: 4 miles with hill sprints
- Wednesday: 5 miles with tempo run
- Friday: 4 miles easy run
- Sunday: 10 miles long run
4. **Week 13-16: Increasing Long Run**
- Monday: 4 miles easy run
- Wednesday: 6 miles with intervals
- Friday: 4 miles easy run
- Sunday: 12 miles long run
5. **Week 17-20: Tapering**
- Monday: 3 miles easy run
- Wednesday: 4 miles with some pick-ups
- Friday: 3 miles easy run
