Is this place worth all the hype? An honest review

After seeing so many hyped reviews of them we were so excited to try out Tong Fu Ju Sichuan restaurant , and YES I can see why there’s so much hype l about it 🤩🤩

TLDR: Super value for money imo as the portions were HUGEEE and super flavourful!!!

What we had:

1. Double delight- Grilled fish in Tom yum soup + Crayfish in garlic sauce - $58.80

YOU NEED TO TRY THISS if u are a seafood lover FRFR. The amount of crayfish they give is INSANE. I was so hyped for the crayfish fr and it lived up to its hype fr😍😍Although I like seafood I don’t eat it frequently because I’m afraid of the fishy odour(?), but there’s absolute NO fishy odour from the dishes at all and the crayfish was scrumptious paired with the SUPER flavourful garlic sauce like I’m not even a garlic lover but this was GOOD😭😭 the pairing was immaculate and super duper yums 👍 all the crayfishes are soooo plump and juicy and also there’s at least 5 crayfish with roes inside which made it extra flavourful and yums!!!! Look at the size of this crayfish as big as my face… super value for money. Also the crayfish was super easy to peel and eat, much easier than shrimp!!!!🤩🤩

The grilled fish was literally fall off the bone tender and the Tom yum soup was soooo flavourfu!! 😭😭 as a person who has mild spice tolerance this wasn’t spicy for me + had a slight sweetness to it~ probably because of the veggies they put in 🤤I enjoyed drinking it with the fish and downed the whole soup LOL😭😭😭 super noms

ALSO PLUS POINT we ate for an hour plus and the food was still SMOKING HOT at the end because they used hot plates and a portable gas stove 😍😍 really hot pot vIBES to the MAX

The portion of this is HUGE you DEFO can share this with 3-4 people, so super value for money imo!!

2. Sambal Kang Kong - $16

It’s not just Sichuan local cuisine they offer!! 😍 What more can I say about Kang Kong 🤤🤤 super flavourful and yummy!! I’m surprised that a sichuan restaurant could manage to nail a local delight so well 😍😍

3. Tong Fu Ju signature fruit tea - $8.80

There were a lot of reviews about how big this drink was and I was like “how big can a drink get?” Turns out it’s VERYYY big lol like when the drink came I was just 😧😧 it’s SUPER HUGE HAHAH and I felt that only a 0.5 angle would do it justice!!

Overall I loveddd the vibes of the place, tables were well spread out and we had our corner to have H2H talks~~ there’s also a hugeeee variety of dishes to choose from, as u can see here not entirely just Chinese cause we technically ate Thai + local dishes 🤣🤣 everything was so SCRUMPTIOUS and flavourful plus the portions were humongous so u defo can bring ur fam down to eat!! (I think beside us there was an 8 pax fam eating the same thing we ordered + side dishes and we are just 2 pax…🫣) legit compliments to the chef fr it’s so good ~~ plus there’s also outdoor seating beside the river for romantic vibes as well~~ 🥰🥰 I was invited down to try and review the dishes so here’s my honest opinion on the food 😋😋 Thank you Tong Fu Ju for having me!🫶
