Hey guys!!

As I gather more books for my future classroom, I love to tie in lessons with books & you can come up with so many for any different theme! Below, I suggested books with lessons you can tie into your classroom! 📚

For the first book, I have a seasonal book. My students love the change of seasons and an interactive read-aloud or even just a simple read-aloud when there's free time in the day is super important for students! Reading about Fall, Spring, Christmas/Winter, Halloween, etc. is super fun to include and you can tie in vocabulary, themes, and characters, it can inspire creative writing, and so much more! 🎄👻🎃

The second book I suggested was a book about behavior! Growing up, I read the David books and loved them, so I wanted to have them in my classroom too! With this book, it demonstrates how David has bad behavior. You can read this story and have an interactive read-aloud with a lesson about how students should act in the classroom along with including the behavior expectations for your own classroom. This can be done at the beginning of the year to introduce the expectations, or at any time throughout the year to remind them what you're looking for from them. 👍🏼👎🏼✅

The third book is a nonfiction book about snakes. This book is just one example of many, but the goal was to show you how you can tie in vocabulary with them, they can support any science lessons you might be teaching, and they can help develop critical thinking skills and connect to real-life observations. They could also be used for nonfiction seasonal books as well, for example reading about spiders during Halloween time! Students love it! 🐍🕷️

The last book is a fiction book about the subject of Math. This is a good moral/feelings lesson because this story is about a little boy who isn't super fast in the subject and gets down on himself, but to read this to young students to remind them that you don't have to be perfect in every subject is perfectly okay and they shouldn't press so much stress on their little bodies! Just a good read-aloud to help remind students of these things! ➕➖➗✖️

Reading stories is super important to young children because it can only benefit them in so many areas! As a teacher, I want to be able to make my lessons fun while including fun stories and activities and these are just a few ideas for you!📖📚📓📒
