From Hearing Aids to A hearing aid & a CI

On December 20th 2022 - I had my cochlear implant surgery & it went really well. My entire life I’ve been a bilateral hearing aid user & in early 2021 at my audiology appt it was determined that we would take this next step however, I was still in Grad School & we needed to wait until I graduated.

I graduated in May ‘22, wanted to enjoy my summer & then scheduled surgery for December. Surgery day came & went! It was successful & I did really well.

The first week of healing was pretty rough - I didn’t really do anything or go anywhere & was just being lazy. My body needed rest.

Tomorrow will be 4 months since activation day & I’ve been going to my appts & have been working really hard on balancing the sounds with both ears & I’ve been doing really well.

Im excited to continue this journey.
