Shopping Haul: Samsung S9 FE

I have been wanting to buy an ipad for so long (years to be exact) but keep waiting because worried i might not utilised it to the fullest. Im particular on spending a big amount of money, I want it to be worth it. Well, I love writing and stationaries so im still unsure with the idea of writing digitally. Until this month, when I start my side gig, online teaching at SifuTutor . I had to borrow my cousin Samsung Tab S8 to teach for a while. So i borrow it for 2 weeks to test and i bring it anywhere I can utilised it-training, class, meeting, teaching, study. So my verdict is- its time to buy one as it is so convenience!

Then come the question of Ipad or Samsung Tab? Ipad was in my selection because its a good product, my Ipad Mini 2 of 10 years still work to the day. Sometime I use it for reading ebooks, its just outdated but I have nothing to complain, totally worth my money. And another selection is Samsung Tab because most of people close to me use Samsung Tab and they are heavy user- they draw and do graphic design, it works well for them.

Things I consider before buying the tab:-

1) What type of user I am?

Light? Moderate? Heavy? Im actually a moderate user. I will use it for works mostly-note taking, opening pdfs, excel, words, email, journal, teaching, netflix, spotify

2) The storage space and speed

I will likely store a lot of documents in the tab. Hence, going for at least 256gb and choosing something at least 6gb.

3) Pen/Stylus

Yes to stylus because I love writing. Its gonna be a lot of note taking.

4) Ecosystem that I have now

I have an a Samsung ecosystem for now as I am an avid Samsung phone user for 9 years. Having another Samsung device make it easier to sync between devices.

5) Size

Size of the tablet affecting my choice. It actually depend on what I am doing with the tab. For now i feel the 11 inch size is quite good. If smaller than that, its hard for me to write and teach. And i dont want bigger as its too big and heavy to carry around.

6) Features and capabilities

Multitask window, notes apps, Pen, Second Screen, Water resistant, sound system, Samsung DeX

7) Extra

Colour. I want cute colour!

And in the end I chose Samsung Tab S9 FE!

Why?

- For moderate usage. I dont need high spec tab, this is good enough.

- Mid range price. You can even got cheap in Shopee during sale. I saw you can get it for RM1600-1800. At store it is RM2000.

- Not too small nor too big. Perfect for taking notes.

- I love the Samsung Notes apps. I dont have to buy any note taking apps.

- Storage is 256gb with 8gb ram. Quite good storage space and speed. Storage also can be added with microsd.

- I love the colour lavender. So pwetty. The SPen also in lavender colour!

- Come with SPen, I dont have to buy separate pen. And the feeling of writing using SPen is soo much natural.

- Can be used like laptop. Just open the DeX mode and get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

- This is water resistant actually. Thats so extra!

To those who are looking for a tab or ipad. I recommend this. But if you have slightly lower budget, you can go for S6 lite that can go as cheap as RM1300 in shoppee, with smaller screen. But it still quite good, I know a lot of university students using it. But make sure to really consider your ecosystem (Apple or android) when buying a tab or ipad. Its sure make a lot of different.
