I’m sure you’d have heard of Burnt Ends by now! They have been consistently ranked Asia’s 50 Best Restaurant and it’s an Australian style bbq restaurant. Their reservations are famed to be hard to get and it seems even harder now that they have moved to Dempsey hills.

I was lucky to have been able to get reservations twice, but both times before they made their move to Dempsey. Here to share an honest review of it so you can decide whether to camp for that reservation spot.

We tried their Chefs Select which is basically their Omakase menu where the Chef decided a what to serve you for that day. It costed us $460 including GST for 2 pax.

Honestly - the dishes were all so good and I can understand and being there 3 years apart their standards were maintained and if not, better. The only downside… it breaks the bank. We had many favourites, which includes the King Crab, Grissini and the Fish and Chips. The Fish and Chips are basically a tiny block of layered potatoes with caviar and fish tartare - it was a flavour explosion but the price? $70 for the 2 bite sized pieces 🥲 I wish they had an option without caviar tho!

All in all I would say Burnt Ends is definitely worth the experience - both food and atmosphere wise. But I’d recommend to go ala carte and go for the dishes you’d want to try based on their menu and reviews rather than the Chefs select menu (unless of course you have the $$$ to splurge then go for it 😅). You can easily cut the price down to $100-$150 per person with ala carte.

May the luck fairies be with you in securing a reservation!
