Uncovered a Hidden Gem for Yum Cha in Penang! 🤤😍✨

Hi Zesties! I went on a Penang food trip recently and have tried the usual well known food spots as well as recommendations from some of you here. But the food spot that really left an impression on me was this enchanting dim sum place called 𝗕𝗮𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲.

A local friend brought me to this dim sum restaurant one day and I think we’ve discovered a hidden gem. I don’t see it talked about much amongst Singaporeans so I’m here to share my honest review on it

𝑨𝒎𝒃𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 5/5

Just look at the setting! The whole place is decorated with a historic appeal, they have a fancy moss garden and lots of little details worth appreciating. They have 2 levels and I highly recommend doing a full tour of the place.

Food was great! Everything we got was fresh, yummy and flavourful. I took 0.5 points off only cos there wasn’t anything that particularly stand out. It’s one of those places where food is decent and you have nothing to complain about.

People there are so friendly and they constantly come to refill your tea for you.

𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒆: I’d say comparable to the prices of dim sum in SG, definitely slightly more expensive than dim sum places in kopitiam but you are really paying for premium ingredients and the atmosphere here.

Apparently it’s featured in the Michelin guide too. If you’re looking for somewhere fancy for a slow meal to catch up with a friend, maybe ditch the usual cafes and give this a try?
