Why did GenX drink from hoses?!

For some reason, this question pops up a lot…and I’m constantly getting tagged in videos from a GenZ going off about it. I still find it odd that this little piece of GenX existence has gotten so much focus (and, yes Boomers and done millennials did it…but they can post on that themselves).

💦The answer to why GenXers drank out of hoses is pretty simple. Really, it’s because our world existed outside as much as inside, often more, and we’d avoid going inside as much as possible without a reason.

🛑Inside could be dangerous and, if you weren’t careful, you would wind up doing chores all day instead of heading out to have fun with our friends. 🧹

Of course, as much as we all talk about drinking out of water hoses, I have to admit: sometimes it could taste pretty funky…especially if you took that first shot of hot-water in the mouth. 🤮
