Hey zesties 🥃🍋
This is my favorite and most memorable hidden bar in seoul 😫 I want to share it with you because never have i heard of a HOT cocktail and it tasted SO GOOD 🤤
🥃This bar is called Gonggan(공간), a Hannok-styled bar within the alleys super near the Bukchon Hannok Village / Gyeongbokgung Palace!
🏠When my friend and I first entered, we realized the place wasn’t super huge, but the lighting and layout really made the place feel so cosy and premium ☺️ With Jazz music playing and light steaming in through their floor to ceiling doors - the vibes were immaculate ✨
🥃We then then ordered their signature cocktails, which came with a side of snacks 🥠🍯 that specifically complemented each of our drinks, and were prepared in front of our eyes 👀
My friend ordered the Azalea - a sweeter and lighter mix 🌸which was more suited to my friend’s taste, whereas I was all for trying new things and went for their hot cocktail - Tarrak-Juk 🤤
I fell in love immediately - it was a warm and cozy christmas in an alcoholic cup 🎄 The cocktail was creamy and packed with spice flavours. According to their menu, it had hints of pine nut and jujube too!🤤
In fact, Tarrak-Juk is actually a dish long since the Josun Dynasty, meant to be an oatmeal-like porridge made from water-soaked and granulated rice and milk🍚🍶~ so you get the vibe of a warm, comforting, nutty roasted drink - perfect for a cold day or for the festive season 🥳
💁🏻♂️What made the experience even better was the staff!!
They were super friendly and could converse in English - asking where we were from and patiently explaining the menu to us. When our waiter noticed that we loved our drinks, he even recommended and curated a bespoke cocktail for us to try (and we loved that too!!) 👅
*btw, our waiter took lessons in Singapore before at featherblade, and he gave us 2 dine-in vouchers before we left 😛*
💲In terms of the price, they were pretty standard (~SGD$15-$20), but I would say it was worth it for the service and experience.
⭐️Overall I would highly recommend this bar, especially if you are up for trying a warm cocktail~~ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The same friend visited GongGan again during her second trip to Korea, and she says the experience was as good as ever 🤩
⏰The bar opens at 4pm, and serves light bites and unique plates from 6pm onwards~ do check it out and let me know what you guys think if you’ve tried this bar before too ☺️
With Love,
Rene 🍸🍹🥃
