where i thrift in ho chi minh 🛍

if u're heading to vietnam to thrift, here are some thrift shops i've been to

1. -------- ANGEL THRIFT

they have a wide selection - a lot of midi skirt, boots, coats etc. they have 2 floors, both are packed w clothing but the 2nd floor is rly warm and stuffy, not v pleasant tbh, didn't get much items bc sizing/most aren't my style but worth a visit!

2. -------- CLOSET SAIGON

i think this was the most hyped one on tiktok and i was really excited but the whole experience there was so bad. i think they open a bar at the back of the store at night so the place stinks of cigar, it was rly sus business tbh (the clothes i bought stinks of cigar too, it was just v distasteful). also u have to ring a bell first & the staff always pokes her head out before letting u in + she was soooo cranky, she kept rolling her eyes at my friends and as u can see most of the clothes are hung on top so she has to manually roll it down. every time i requested to see those, she looked so annoyed. also, i was rly excited for this store bc it has a wide selection of camis but most of them runs big and a lot were dark-colored/leopard-printed clothes

still would recommend for u to visit but only during the day

3. -------- MAYHEM

i didn't get a lot of thrift/vintage vibes from this store bc about half or more were brand new clothes, selling touristy t-shirts that says stuff like "saigon pho" i doubt it's second-hand. also there are 2 floors but i only stayed on the top/ground floor (friends say there aren't anything nice on the other floor so i didn't bother). ended up getting a crocheted head scarf thing tho it's cute

4. -------- JOE THRIFTSHOP

most "authentic" thrift store in this list, there seems to be some level of curation and there're a wide selection like jerseys, vintage tees, jorts, button ups, mini skirts, jeans, baby tees, etc. some caught my eyes but i didn't get anything in the end, still had fun browsing everything tho! probably a higher chance of finding something u like here, defo recommend to visit

❤️‍🩹 one tip when shopping in vietnam is to check their IG accounts before heading there bc some stores might have closed down (happened to us twice) but it wasn't stated on google! so just make sure u don't waste a trip down
