If you’re planning for a trip to Komodo Island, here’s our tip around everything you should pack to make sure you have all you need when you’re out at sea 🌊

First off, try to carry a bigger straw bag / gym bag to store everything inside. Here’s the full list of what it should contain and why:

1️⃣ Smaller Sling Bag

To keep a small water bottle, some cash, your passport and other essential items like your phone. This allows you to sling it conveniently while you’re hiking

2️⃣ Cap Or Sun Hat

My husband got a sunburn on his scalp because he wasn’t wearing any cap, the sun can be scorching hot especially while you’re hiking so make sure to protect it! I bought a white Underarmour cap and it was sufficient for the whole trip, you can get it here

3️⃣ Body Towel

This can be borrowed from your hotel, basically to wipe yourself down after each snorkelling location during the trip

4️⃣ Swim Wear

For snorkelling activities

5️⃣ Slippers

For you to slip on easily when you go back onboard the speed boat after snorkelling. However, do make sure that you are wearing a good pair of walking shoes or sport shoe at the start of the trip so you can properly hike at Padar Island and Komodo National Park

6️⃣ Cash

You need around 400k worth of cash to pay for the entrance fee to Komodo National Park, remember to set it aside, additionally at Padar Island and Komodo National Park, there are some souvenirs to buy if you’d like, they only accept cash here

7️⃣ Sunblock

Have one for your face and another for your body! I had a very observable sun burn after the whole day cause I didn’t use enough 😂

8️⃣ Snacks

While the tour does provide lunch in lunchboxes, it really wasn’t the best (It was pretty dry), so I’d advise to bring 1-2 packs of snacks you got from the convenience store to munch on during the trip

9️⃣ Waterproof Phone Casing

This is important if you want to take underwater images of fishes, manta rays and many more! We got ours from Lazada here

Have a great trip! 😘
