A mental health toolkit includes ready-to-go tools for when you need them the most. This can be a physical kit or a list of actions you’ve written down on a list. The point is for this to be handy and available at the moment you need it.
How to Build a Physical Kit: For a physical tool kit, start by grabbing a box. You could even decorate a card board box if you want. Then, start adding things to it that you know will help your mental health. These could be things like colored pencils and a sketchpad, a book to read, a fidget toy, a cozy blanket, a journal and pen, etc.
How to Create a List: If you don’t want to create a physical kit, that is totally fine. I suggest making your mental health toolkit in list form. Think of things that will help you during your stressful, sad, anxious moments. Write these things out so that whenever you start to feel low, you already have a list ready for you and can choose one or two things from it.
