Oral hygiene has been all the rage lately and I am here for it! Honestly I think of it as another form of self care. I wanted to share a list foods that are shown to have benefits for oral health, specifically the teeth and gums.
DAIRY PRODUCTS
Dairy products, such as cheese, yogurt, and milk contain many vitamins and minerals. More specifically, they contain calcium which helps to strengthen your teeth and bones.
DARK, GREEN VEGGIES
Veggies like spinach, kale, and collard greens contain calcium as well that helps to rebuild enamel.
OTHER VEGGIES
Raw carrots help to clean the teeth and massage your gums.
Celery also helps clean teeth (like a natural toothbrush) and helps fight gum disease.
LEAN MEAT
These are beneficial for your teeth and gums. One example of this is chicken. They also contain phosphorus which helps prevent your teeth from chipping.
WATER!!!!
I did not include this on the picture, since technically it is not a food. BUT, water is extremely beneficial for your oral hygiene. Water helps your mouth stay at a normal PH level and it helps remove bacteria that may have built up.
