January has always been an opportunity to make new goals, a new lifestyle and new beginnings. For the past couple of years I’ve been making a list of goals and things that I want to change and achieve. Every year I end up getting discouraged half way through the year. I begin to doubt myself and then target myself and the end result is always the same, I stay the same and my goals aren’t met. Even now I am struggling to want to achieve all my goals that I’ve made this year and when I look at them and realize that I haven’t made progress yet, I get overwhelmed. I then start trying to tackle each and every single one at the same time. So to break that habit I decided to write these affirmations in my journal. I focus on what I can control, my thoughts. Our thoughts can be either the most poisonous or inspirational part of ourselves. They play a huge part of who we are as a person. So this year I want to take a moment to affirm and remind myself that I am not perfect. I am a person who is passionate and willing to make a change even if will take longer than expected. I want to accept that this year. And even if I don’t achieve it, that’s okay too.
