how to design: frog bullet journal theme 🐸

i'm going to take you through the design process for how i came up with the idea for my april bullet journal: a frog pond theme.

IDEA

the idea that i started with for april was actually based off of the saying, "april showers bring may flowers." so, the idea was to incorporate rain into the theme.

BRAINSTORM

based off of rain, i wanted to include a cute animal doodle and the first one that i thought would go well with rain was a frog. additionally, based on the idea of rain and frogs, i thought that a frog pond with the rain drops falling down would be really cool.

FINAL TOUCHES

now that i knew that i wanted a frog pond with rain, i looked around into what other ideas you might find near a pond. the ideas that i came up with were lily pads, lotuses, and cattails, so you'll see that i incorporated those doodles as well.

DESIGN

last, but not least, i put together all of the ideas that i came up with and spaced them out across the spreads. this is one of the more doodle heavy and cute themes that i did, but the colors are so bright that it makes me excited to use my journal every day!
