The Oregon coast is amazing. If you’re planning a trip here, definitely add these 4 spots to your list!
This spot is like the Oregon version of California’s Big Sur. The scenery here is epic! There are a few different, short hiking trails to choose from to get you to that awesome aerial viewpoint. I recommend Saint Perpetua Trail:
- 1.7 miles
- 715 feet elevation gain
- trailhead: right behind the visitor center
The trail goes through a lush forest section, up some switchbacks, through a meadow with wildflowers and then reaches a few amazing aerial coastal viewpoints!
⭐️ Meyers Creek Beach Viewpoint
We stumbled upon this beach by parking off a turnout on the 101 - and I’m so glad we did! There’s tons of huge rock formations towering right off the shore in the ocean. It’s very picturesque. Apparently this beach is used as the setting for a lot of car commercials!
⭐️ Devils Punchbowl State Natural Area
This cool natural rock formation looks like a bowl, with an opening at the top. Check out the aerial view from where you park your car, and then - if you’re there at low tide- walk down to the shore and go inside it!
Quite possibly the most iconic (and popular) spot along the Oregon Coast, for good reason. Towering up 235 feet, Haystack Rock is considered to be the third tallest intertidal formation in the world! It’s also featured in The Goonies movie.
Right across the street from this beach stop by Pelican Brewery for drinks and food!
