Ok the Romanian deadlifts (rdl) took me very very long to master. It was difficult but when I finally got the right cues, it’s been a STAPLE!!! In my leg days.

Why do RDLs?

‼️ the hip hinge movement is used in a lot of exercises. Perfecting this movement will benefit you a lot.

‼️ this is a booty building exercise I promise

‼️ your hamstrings (the back of your thighs) will look absolutely STELLARRRRR

So I’m going to give u my cues so write this down !!📝🗒️

1️⃣ learn how to hinge your hips first.

Without weights, literally just push your booty back while having a straight back. Just imagine a rubberband is pulling your butt.

2️⃣ when you feel a pull in your hamstring, that’s where you should stop. Do not go down any further. Going down beyond that will arch your back and cause an injury when you start going heavier.

3️⃣ have your knees just slightly bent! Soft knees!

4️⃣ weights should be close to your body💝

quick tips:

🤞🏽I would suggest starting with dumbbells first as I find that it’s easier to manage.

🤞🏽 stand about two feet away from a wall and practice your hip hinges. When your booty touches the wall, don’t go down any further. I still do this especially when I’m going heavier than I usually do, to make sure my form is still right.

🤞🏽your back should not hurt. Stop immediately and correct your form before doing another set!

🤞🏽 take lots of videos and compare it side by side to videos with proper form. This helped me tons!!

These are cues that help me a lot, and of course practice!!
