I hate barbell squats. For real. I’ve been training for a while now and I still absolutely hate it 😭😭 I think it’s my body anatomy or something or my lack of trying but I’m really not good at it LOL
It’s fine though! We can’t excel at everything at the gym. So instead of barbell squats I do other variations. One of them is:
LINEAR HACK SQUAT MACHINE
Most gyms have this or something similar!
What it’s good for
🤞🏽 strong quads
🤞🏽 allows you to go heavy
🤞🏽 less stress on your back
🤞🏽 safer compared to barbell squats
It’s also perfect for new gymmers who want to build strength and confidence before trying out the barbell squats👍🏽
How to use:
🤞🏽get into the machine (remove any weights)
🤞🏽straighten legs slightly
🤞🏽unlock by pushing down the handle
🤞🏽 adjust feet - make it even!
🤞🏽bend your knees and go low slowwwww
🤞🏽when you’re done, stand up slightly again and pull up the safety handle
🤞🏽 add weights when you’re ready to go heavy!
and that’s all!
I usually do this at the start of my leg day before moving on to my other sets.
