— thoughts: never thought i’d be into the whole pirates concept, but this was unexpectedly good! again this list contains books that are fast paced and hook u right away so u can get out of ur reading slump, and i thought this fit the bill.

— read if you love: politics, plot twists/backstabbing, the fae world, enemies to lovers, darker themes (like slytherin vibes 🐍)

— thoughts: my favorite book of all time !! ik this book isn’t for everyone, it can get pretty dark, and her main love interest is her bully ahajhaoa but i rlly like the idea of “how can something so wicked be so wretchedly beautiful?” AND the plot twists? the way she climbs up the ladder from someone who was bullied to becoming literally the ***** (i can’t spoil it). i rlly found this book genius and one of a kind.

🐉 the fourth wing by rebecca yarros

— read if you love: divergent, war camp/school, how to train your dragon (lol), fast-paced action

— synopsis: violet has always trained to be a scribe, but when she’s forced into the rider’s quadrant, she undergoes a series of perilous tests that threaten her survival. and most importantly, she must stay away from a man who has a motive to kill her.

— thoughts: if u don’t have booktok, this book has seriously taken over. i never thought i’d see a man posted as often as rhysand lol. anyways it was a good book, controversial but i can see why people say this book feels like u fed everything good about YA books into chatgpt — it has the formula for a great novel, but somehow i feel like i’ve seen it before? recco it nonetheless.

— thoughts: y’all i really thought i would hate this book when it dropped bc i study in stem, why wld anyone romanticize it? 🥶 but imo this book was a good balance of reality/romanticizing and is rlly easy and fun to read.
