For me, anxiety and stress go hand in hand.
When I’m super stressed or overstimulated it’s easy for me to get anxious. Burn out can also give me anxiety. But sometimes I just have anxiety. And often times, it seems like there’s no reason to it.
I’ve struggled with anxiety ever since I was a child. Over the years I’ve learned that there’s ways to manage it, reduce it and try to prevent it.
Not gunna lie, these things don’t always work, sometimes I have to just sit in the feeling until it passes. And that’s all you can really do. It’s important to feel your feelings and address them and to try to get to the root of them.
Everyone is different, but I believe there are a few core things that can help us all through anxiety.
Grounding activities
spending time in nature
Creating art/ expressing ourselves
Meditation, turning inward
Journaling, talking through it
Self care
getting cozy, rest
Sensory focus
