DIY pinterest ribbon bag for UNDER $5 🎀☁️✂️

i’ve been seeing variations of this pinterest style ribbon bag floating around the internet and really wanted one for myself!

i found places selling them for upwards of $13, and thought that i could honesty make it myself for a lot cheaper!

🎀 here’s how to DIY a pinterest ribbon bag for under $5!! 🎀

✂️ Materials Used

🎀 Ribbon in your fav colour! (~$2)

- you can find on shopee in various colours, widths and textures

🧷 Brooch pins (~$1)

- make sure the width of the pin matches that of your ribbon! the pins are like safety pins but flat on one side

👜 Tote bag/ any bag you like!! (free if you reuse an old one! or get on shopee for ~$2!!)

- i’ve seen variations with canvas totes and puffer bags so explore your bag collection to see what you fancy!

how to make the ribbon pins:

1. tie the ribbon (follow any tutorial on youtube)

2. slot the FLAT side of the brooch pin through the centre of the ribbon (back side towards the pin)

then pin on the ribbons however you like!! i even opted to tie some extra ribbon on the handles of the bag 🎀🎀

measurements i used

🎀 Ribbon (40mm width), cut 36inch (~90cm) in length

🧷 Brooch Pin (32 mm width)

👜 Bag (A4 Size)

this is a super super easy and affordable way to upcycle an old tote bag (like all those u get as freebies), or to elevate an existing bag that you own!!

i think it adds a very nice pop of colour to a plain tote bag and can help add to your overall look in a simple and easy way!

the style and colour of the ribbons you choose will also create different feels and aesthetics to the bag. and since the pins are removable, you can swap things around any time you like!!
