4 TIPS for styling OKOKOK aesthetic outfits 🎸⛓️🔥

i’ve always been interested in trying out new aesthetics and seeing how they could fit me and if i can vibe with them. so with that tiktok trend of the okokok girl vs the lalala girl — i thought it would be fun to experiment styling pieces from my wardrobe that would be the OPPOSITE aesthetic of what i would normally wear.

A lot of these pieces i own were in bits in pieces — especially the BLACK pieces, that i don’t wear very often (even though i bought them hoping i’d wear them more often), so i really wanted to find new #HotLemon8Summer fits out of what i already had in my closet!

here’s a soft girl’s guide to dressing OKOKOK 🔥🥵

☕️ include clothing items with a LOOSE fit, but have some STRUCTURE!

- this could be cargo pants, straight cut jeans, oversized leather jackets or blazers.

- some structure to the outfit will help prevent it from looking too flowy — choose materials like denim bf leather, or have thicker hoodies that keep their baggy shape

- personally i love pairing a looser, structured bottom with a tighter top + oversized outerwear— i feel like it gives effortless chic!

🤎 colour wise, choose NEUTRALS or DARK colours like navy

- neutrals can be black, grey, white and tans

- this colour palette is generally quite easy to match pieces to each other as compared to bright colours

- creates a darker and more grungy vibe

🎞️ specific DETAILS can help elevate your outfit

- metallic elements, like the loops on my lace up skorts add an edgy touch to the outfit

- the folded down waist band of the dickies cargo jeans helps add to the laid back vibe, and is a call out to the y2k low rise trend

- my fav is constraint stitching on dark wash pieces, i love how it calls attention to the lines and structure of the outfit in the subtle way that give the basic look a contemporary touch

🐚 for accessories, include a statement piece, which could be a BAG, JEWELRY or BELT

- i paired many of these looks with a matching neutral coloured mini bag, and statement earrings

- I also included a pair of sunglasses as a hair accessory to give that laid back vibe

not gonna lie, i did quite a bit of research to try to portray the OKOKOK aesthetic as accurately as i could with existing clothing pieces! as a ☁️✨ soft pastel aesthetic girlie 🌷🩵 this was definitely a fun challenge to style these outfits of an opposite aesthetic 🩷🩷

i think this aesthetic is fairly doable if your closet has a lot of neutrals and dark colours, so i would defo encourage you to explore these alternate ways of styling pieces you already own! trying out new styles could help you discover new ways of putting clothing pieces together that you had not thought of before, to bring new life to pieces you may rarely pick up anymore!
