4 MUST KNOW tips for styling a COLOURFUL bag 🛍️🌈🦄

recently you may have seen lots of posts about the tinsel rack mini bags that are exclusive from 15-19 April 2023! The bags come in 6 different colours and most people’s preferences gravitate towards the black or the mystery white bag, since they tend to be more classic colours, and are hence more likely to be easier to style.

well i wasn’t so lucky, so i have the raspberry pink bag, and also the lilac purple bag which i bought from carousell! they aren’t the easiest to style, but i was determined to make it work 😌✊🏻

today i’m gonna share 4 ways which i best style my fits with my bags that have a stand out colour! so hopefully you won’t shy away from these colourful bags in the future 😌😌

1️⃣ Matching one item of your clothing to the dominant colour of your bag

- for the first fit i matched my pants to the colour of the bag and complimented it with a neutral white top

- this helps integrate the bag into my overall look without it being too colourful

- i also chose a lilac hairband to tie everything together

2️⃣ Choosing clothing pieces of the same colour as your bag but in different shades

- for this second fit, i had different shades of pink for my top, bottom and accessories — but in lighter and muted shades compared to the bag

- this allowed me to make a cohesive fit with the bag where the different shades of pink flow together

- prevent clashing of colours

3️⃣ Looking for pieces that are in supporting or complimentary colours to that on your bag

- for this fit i chose a top in a supporting colour (blue) which is next to the colour of the bag in the colour wheel

- and also a skirt in complementary tan/camel colour, since yellow is opposite purple on the colour wheel

- this creates a cohesive colour palette without having to repeat the same colour — giving more options to pair with the bag

4️⃣ Going with a neutral base that helps make your bag POP!

- for my last fit i played into the “cream” from the bag’s colour name — raspberry cream, by creating a neutral base with the cream and white pieces

- this gave a light base from with the pink bag could stand out without clashing with any of the clothing pieces

- in this fit, the colourful bag becomes a statement piece

i hope that these tips can help you build more confidence in reaching for that colourful bag the next time you are feeling torn about what colour to get. and many of these fits can be built with pieces that you may already have in your closets!!
