DIY personalised xmas cards! Easy and Affordable!

christmas is coming! and sometimes we just get bored of the regular old greeting cards we send to family and friends. today i’m going to share with you a quick! simple! and affordable way to make personalised. christmas cards for your friends and family this holiday season! 🎄

✨ getting started!

using procreate, create a canvas!

- you can opt to create a canvas of your choice the import the photo in (best for print!)

- or just open the image as a canvas

✨tips for selecting your reference photo:

✅ photos with good lighting and clear details

✅ photos with clear colours

❌ low light/ film photos ( muddied colours)

❌ photos with too many details! (eg. super patterned clothes)

✨ making the art

- CREATE A NEW LAYER!

- use the dropper tool to determine the colour of the area you want to trace

- trace the outline of that area and then use the full tool to fill it in

- depending on how experienced you are with art, you can opt to add in more details such as: shadows/ highlights/creases in clothing

✨ the finishing touches

- choose a background colour or use the original background of the photo

- write on your seasons greetings

- add details such as snow or draw on xmas hats!
