the BEST tips for attending Xmas Wonderland’22 🎄❄️

christmas wonderland is back!! held at gardens by the bay, this month long event features christmas themed light installations, good food and more! maybe you’ve already purchased your tickets, or maybe you are still on the fence about it. here are my tips for attending the event!!

❄️ Beat the crowd by going early!

the earliest ticket slot is 6:30pm, and they DONT chase you out (last entry 10pm). so head in early before all the queues start forming! this is the best time to grab some pics before it gets too crowded

❄️ Get your food first!

when everyone is walking in, most people are admiring the installations, means the food queues are EMPTY!! quickly make your rounds and decide what you want to buy!! the tables are more empty at the start you are more likely to get a seat!

❄️ See a queue? JUST QUEUE

Queues here only get LONGER so if you really want to view an installation/ eat some food, just join the queue rather than waiting for it to get shorter (it won’t)

❄️ Bayfront Station > GBTB Station

I made the mistake of walking from the new GBTB station, when the entrance was super close to bayfront!! Also wear proper shoes! cause i was in my C&K sandals and i BLISTERED (and these are super worn in alr)

❄️THINGS YOU MUST DO❄️

🎄 Try the FOOD!

I highly recommend the Praffles (Prata + Waffles!) we tried the truffle cheese flavour ($10.90) and it was LIFE CHANGING! We also tried the loaded fries and nacho + salsa — not the most exciting, i would say only get if you are CRAVING them.

I also grabbed this mango soda ($5) that came in a HOLOGRAPHIC CUP that was reusable! so i kept it as well :D ✨💿

🎄 Take lots of nice PHOTOS

There are lots of light installations but not all of them are good for photos (especially at night!) Some of the common photo spots include the walk of light, center light installation — my tip for the walk of light would be to wait for brighter colours to come on before snapping your pics! The carousel is a unique photo spot! but make sure you get that photo BEFORE the sun sets! 🌅

🎄 Grab some DRINKS and DESSERT

There’s a booth for HENDRICKS GIN that mixes cocktails at a decently affordable price (and when i ordered they gave quite a decent amount of alcs in the mix)! There’s also a booth from the museum of ice cream that features a limited but still delicious range of ice creams! ($5 per scoop!)

🎄 Play the carnival GAMES

While most games are designed for you to fail, there’s no harm in trying those that are abit more skill than luck based! (eg. basketball throw/ ball throw) You definitely should watch others attempt the game first to see if it’s a scam or not!

🎄 Check out the BOOTHS

Don’t miss the photo booth to snap some nice pics with your S/O or group of friends! It’s priced at $10 for 2 strips which is similar to the prices at most self photo taking studios. There are also lots of small stalls selling accessories/ household items to look at!
