Before I started Carnivore I was eating a high veggie lean protein diet and taking a lot of supplements. Here is one supplement I took a lot of, FISH OIL! I was consuming 2000mg of fish oil per day. In order to help my brain fog, anxiety, and depression I was told that high amounts of fish oil are necessary. Swipe pictures above to see how I looked on a lot of fish oil and veggies vs now. Let me just add I just turned 38 so experience is something I can speak on. Since I started carnivore I removed nearly all of my supplements and I stopped taking fish oil pills completely. Most supplements are really unnecessary on the carnivore diet. Here are some reasons you should stop taking fish oil according to Ben Azadi and Dr Jeff.

1. Fish oil is rancid, there’s a study that up to 80% of fish oil is oxidized and rancid. Which in turn takes away antioxidants in the body. Even Cod liver oil and high quality fish oil is unsafe because it is not refrigerated and fresh.

2. Fix Oil is linked to Cancer. Studies have shown that fish oil increased colon cancer in mice.

3. Are You Mega Dosing on Fish Oil, because I was! The brain needs about 7.5 mil grams per day. 1 capsule of fish oil contains 1,000 mg per day. We can get fish oil by eating fish and we don’t need nearly as much as they claim.

4. Blood Sugar Control Worsens With Fish Oil

Glucose went way 🆙 If you are diabetic or pre diabetic watch out.

Study shows that “subjects” insulin increased when taking fish oil.

A1C levels after six months of fish oil increased 16% 😮

Looking back I see how my health got worse after mega dosing fish oil, I believe it led to my pre diabetic symptoms. The best supplements are real foods 🥩 not pills you can swallow.

Eating carnivore has simplified my life. Before I was overwhelmed with the amount of information given about diet and exercise. Supplements and self care felt like something I was never going to achieve entirely. The amount of caution and expense 💰 that went into it made it feel unattainable. Don’t feel discouraged if you’re looking for answers to your health, there is a better way. I literally just eat all sorts of meats and feel great every day without supplements. Since I started Carnivore I worry way less about my health and just enjoy life being a wife and mom.
