READ THIS BEFORE GOING ON YOUR EUROPE TRIP 🚊📝

If it’s your first time traveling around Europe, it might get a little confusing and scary (coming from my first hand experience) So here’s everything I wished I knew before I went for my trip 😫

WHAT IS EURAIL? 🚊

A Eurail Pass is an all-in-one train ticket giving you access to travel around 33 countries in Europe.

HOW TO BUY? 🎟️

Buy your pass on the website www.eurail.com! You can select the pass type base on the estimated number of countries you plan on visiting in Europe. One trip to a country usually takes up one travel day. So if you’re planning to visit 5 countries, you would purchase the “5 days within 1 month” pass.

EVERYTHING ABOUT EURAIL APP 🚆

All your bookings and reservations will be done through this app.

Steps:

1. Enter your start and end destination

2. You can browse and choose the different journey options and time slots. You can book for weeks in advance too.

3. After choosing the journey you want, click “save journey”. Your saved journey will be found under the tab “My Trip”

4. On the actual day of traveling, you need to toggle the right button “on” to confirm that you will be using up a travel day for this trip

5. Under “My Pass”, you can check how many travel days you are left with.

6. There will be train conductors making their rounds in the train asking for your ticket. So click “show ticket” for them to scan your QR code!

SEAT RESERVATIONS 💺

Some journeys will state “seat reservations required”. You have to buy them in advance on the app before your trip. (This is especially strict traveling inside France) Some journeys will not let you enter the train if you don’t have a seat reservation, despite having a ticket for that trip already.

Also, you are UNABLE to purchase a seat reservation through the app if the time is too close to departure. Your only option is to purchase at the ticket machine at the station. BUT it’s very risky because usually the queues are really long and the machine is not easy to understand. So, you might miss your train (been there done that)😓
