My favorite vanilla frosting!

In a blender, beat shortening (1 cup) and vanilla (1 tsp) until smooth. Slowly begin adding powdered sugar (8 cups). Add heavy cream(2-3 tablespoons) at a time, alternating with the powder sugar. Mix until creamy or until you reach desired consistency.
