i’ve always wanted to experience living in a place where you wake up to scenes from an ad or a movie but to do that in SG it’s almost impossible with the rocket high prices of hotels. my friends and i decided that since it’s a grad trip, let’s make this a bougie one where we live in a nice hotel with sick views and live our bachelor/bachelorette lives so this was the hotel we booked:

Pao's Sapa Leisure Hotel

📍Mường Hoa, TT. Sa Pa, Sa Pa, Lào Cai 661300, Vietnam

🗺️ Location

15mins by foot, 5mins by taxi to Sapa Town Center

💰Price

SGD 142/ pax for 2 nights — SGD 71/ pax per night

*we booked through a third party site — trip.com

🏨 Room & Amenities

we booked the premium deluxe room and requested for connecting rooms as there were 6 of us on the trip. the connecting rooms were amazing because it makes it easier for us to gather and just chill and have some drinks without the hassle of wearing shoes or going about different levels. our rooms overlooked the scenic Muong Hoa Valley with the view from the bathtub looking alike those of a beauty advertisement.

the amenities listed in the hotel booklet was amazing but a little disappointing. the pool is an indoor one so you don’t get very nice ig pics and the pool bar and jacuzzi were not operating when we’re there. the roof top bar and launch were also not rather underwhelming as it wasn’t operating in theory . the gym was also relatively small so truly the amenities that were enjoyable were the bar/ restaurant and the spa with the rest of it being a tad bit too underwhelming in comparison to the pictures online.

i fell sick the night we checked in after the 2D1N homestay so i had the opportunity to try out the room service dining which was GOOD and honestly very affordable after converting to sgd — it’s about 6SGD for a pork congee with really generous portion.

we also did our laundry at the hotel which was SUPER affordable and the hotel staff were really accommodating in prioritising our laundry especially since we were gonna return back to hanoi after the second night.

👫 Staff

we had the most amazing time there thanks to the really kind staff at Pao Sapa! huge shoutout to the manager Katie who’s been so kind and thoughtful during our stay. as we didn’t have a local number to contact the hotel, she provided us with her contact to communicate to her via WhatsApp! they were exceptionally helpful as well because I personally left my phone on the electric taxi that we board from the hotel and Katie ensured that her team helped us with retrieving my phone back even though it wasn’t her working shift. however, most of the staff do struggle a little with communicating fluently in English but they do try their best and at times use translating apps to communicate which i truly appreciate their effort in delivering the best hospitality as much as possible.

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: 4/5.0

minus the disappointment we faced in terms of the amenities, given the price we paid for the views, the room and the service i’d still recommend this hotel to you guys. the amenities portion didn’t faze us as we weren’t active in using them minus that one pool dip and the gym sessions + massage sessions. waking up to the scenic views of the valley was amazing and i would pay to experience this again and again.
