Before you fight me.. I LOVE RUPI KAUR OKAY

I bought her new release of milk and honey. I have every single one of her books. She’s phenomenal. She’s provoking. She’s empowering. She’s all of those fantastic adjectives and more! Milk and Honey is on the banned book list, so obviously you gotta read her. However. There are equally amazing poetry authors out there that don’t get enough recognition. To be honest this is only a small section of my poetry collection, I had to leave behind so many books when I moved. Scuse me while I cry.. anyways.

After I discovered Rupi a few years back, I basically made poetry my entire personality. And I bought everything I could get my grubby paws on. Basically turned myself into a walking flower child. I was peace and love incarnate. I offered cheesy words of advice no one asked for in the form of poetry. I thought I was the shit. 🙄

Fast forward a few years. I still love poetry. But now I’m fueled by spite and caffeine, and gushy poetry books kind of center me and calm me down in my chaotic filled world.

And I. Do not. Like. Classic poetry. Unless. It’s Emily Dickinson. But I did not include her this time around. I guess technically Mary Oliver might be considered classic ish. But I don’t care. Fight me.

Also The Witch Doesn’t Burn in this One is technically part of a series. But I didn’t know that when I bought it and I haven’t bought the rest yet.

So if you are looking for some soul searching, gut wrenching, feel allllllll of the feels, check these out.

And if you can’t see the titles, listed in order are;

The Witch Doesn’t Burn in this One by Amanda Lovelace

Flowers on the Moon by Billy Chapata

Soft Thorns by Bridgett Devoue

Eighteen Years by Madisen Kuhn

The Dark Between Stars and Love Her Wild by Atticus

Devotions by Mary Oliver

Please Don’t Go Before I Get Better by Madisen Kuhn

A Beautiful Composition of Broken by R.H Sin
