HOMEGROUND COFFEE ROASTER - NEW LOCATION WITH A NEW LOOK

Homeground cafe is not strange to those who love coffee and passion about good coffee beans. Having started in 2017 in Joo Chiat Rd, quite a mid-size space last time. But come back this time, Not only renovated their cafe store but there is also opened one more 1 store beside the name " Play Ground " for selling retail such as their handmade mugs, Origami dripper, and coffee beans.

Back to the Homeground, located in Outram Park MRT station, so much nearer and more convenient than the previous location, with the bigger and nicer ambiance.

With a minimalist aesthetic, white and brown are the main colors of the store, decorated with green plants, giving me a neutral tone, skylight roof in the middle, got a Japanese vibe. With the full dining concept, there is long tables suit for family members or a big group of friends, and also got bar seating in a sidebar. Talking about the bar, it is hugely and I pretty like the open bar concept, for those same as me the kind of person who likes to watch they make latte art or brew coffee, the most special things were separate of filter coffee and coffee made by the mastrena coffee machine.

Their menu of food is also special, with a lot of choices for sharing plates, and desserts. I wanted to focus more on the quality of the coffee beans so I skipped their dish, but definitely will come back for their food ( look at the pictures on Instagram was so nice )

The two coffee beans we had were Las Margaritas, Valle de Cauca Colombia, and Mahwit Yemen. Both drinks are filter options, and you always can buy the beans from them if you like them. Let's talk about how good the taste is.

✨ Las Margaritas, Valle de Cauca Colombia ( Muscat grape, cardamon, mint, smooth ): The most expensive filter coffee, but it was so much better than I had expected. Smoky aroma, a bit mellow from the muscat grape smell, smooth as well, Roast can be medium - dark, quite strong so do take note. If follow up on the description, will have the mint flavor but for me maybe it was light so I couldn't taste it out. 9/10 for the quality.

✨ Mahwit Yemen ( red wine, pomegranate, cherry, lychee ): Turn to this one, so fragrantly, the first thing I could smell was the red wine flavor very strong and winey, moreover were fruity with notes of lychee and cherry, a coffee with a full body, it is much richer.

✨ Lychee Rose Tart: We wanted to get the coffee with clearly tasting so we ordered it. the tart is not so sweet, very savory from the lychee rose, the tart was buttery and soft, on top of the tart have a slice of pineapple. The tart also didn't make us feel disappointed and I love it.

If you want to try their hand brew coffee but don't know or confusing, don't worry cause the barista will explain to you and help you to choose, make sure that you will like it. they also have a " don't know what to order " selection menu. That is a simple thing but makes me can feel how helpful and careful they are. In conclusion, I feel lucky when I wanted to visit there but until now could try home ground with a new and more poof version. According to some of the food reviewers, they are so much better than last time. Can't wait to come here next time so I can try their food and review it for y'all. Now is your turn to have an experience in Homeground !!!
