hi everyone! we visited another restaurant last weekend for a dinner date, and after a quick search on google we found this place in Telok Ayer! swipe to see close ups of what we ordered!

when we first entered the restaurant, it gave off as a very cozy place to have intimate conversations with people 🏠the space was quite small, so do remember to make a reservation in advance as it got crowded quite quickly during peak dinner time around 6.30pm. we ordered a couple of drinks, sides and mains, and were pretty impressed by how fast they served food 🍹🥃🍸

😋 what we ordered:

1. fried mozzarella with basil - $12

this was the first side that caught my attention on the menu: cheese! i love anything with mozzarella so i wanted to try them out. it was lovely~ it was a combination of sweet and savoury, from the drizzled maple syrup and good old stringy cheese. there were only 3 pieces though… for the price of $12 🥲

1. calamari fritti - $16

second side we ordered was calamari! we were afraid the mozzarella wouldn't be enough so we got this just in case. the squid tasted very fresh and the texture was just right - not too hard and chewy like rubber, but soft enough to comfortable enjoy the texture and flavour 🥰 the dipping sauce on the side also balanced the flavours really well!

1. gigli pasta with truffle ricotta & mushrooms - $20

we are suckers for any cream pasta, so we chose this out of the many options to give it a go. the cream sauce wasn't heavy at all, so we did not feel jelak while eating this, and the variety of mushrooms they included added to the texture too. i especially loved the doughy al-dente texture of the pasta noodle, along with the crispy shallot toppings that added a crunch 🍝 we felt that the pasta could have included slightly more truffle taste/smell though, otherwise, it was pretty good!

1. conchigile pasta with slow cooked beef & smoked tomatoes - $22

to balance out a cream pasta, we picked a classic tomato based dish, and this one really showed that decent pasta exists in singapore. the tomato based sauce was delicious!! 🍅 it felt so rich and authentic, and it gave a deep bolognese flavour that satisfied our tummy. also, the portions for the pastas were huge!

💡 will i be back?

hmm i actually think i will only be back to try the other pastas, but not the sides, as the prices are quite up there for sides that feel mid. it is still a good place to bring loved ones for a dinner date!🍴
