No carpentry wardrobe?

It’s well known that carpentry is the bulk of the cost of a typical home renovation.

As we were adhering to a strict budget for our renovation, it was important for us to keep close tabs on how much we were spending on carpentry.

We eventually decided to do away with traditional carpentry for our master bedroom wardrobe.

Here’s what we did instead:

- We used partition to demarcate the area where our wardrobe was supposed to be

- Using off the shelves solution from Ikea (Boaxel Modular System & Malm Chest of drawers), we were able to create a wardrobe system at nearly HALF THE COST!!

- Curtains were used instead of sliding or casement doors to add a soft touch to the bedroom

This allowed us to reduce the expenses on carpentry and allocate more budget to quality appliances - which has a direct impact of living quality and we can bring along if we move house in the future.
