Trying no hashtags

Plant mamas! I need advice. I’m trying to grow an avocado tree and I just pulled the pit out of the dark cabinet I had it in since May. Has anyone tried to grow an avocado tree before? Does my pit look right? I need to find a smaller cup for the pit because this mason jar is literally filled to the top lol
