POV: teaching your dogs to hold place at the door

There are so many benefits to teaching your dog ‘place.’ While you can utilize ‘place’ anywhere for SEVERAL reasons, I want to focus on the benefits of using ‘place’ specifically when guests come into your home:By teaching your dog(s) to hold ‘place’ as guests come in, it can help:

1. Keep your dog calm and under control as guests come in.

2. Prevent your dogs from running out the door when it is open if they are a flight risk.

3. Keep your dog from running at or jumping on your guests as they walk into your house.

4. Provide space for the guests who may not like or be afraid of dogs.
