30 & Leaving My Full Time Job

I am turning 30 this year. While my friends are climbing their career ladders, I made the bold move to resign from my job at the peak of my career. I don't know where the courage came from, but this year, I decided to be brave and start a new chapter in my life.

Since graduating from university, I’ve been working hard for four years. For many, this might seem like a short time, but in these four years, I went from being an intern to managing a UIUX team. During this time, I also started two shops on Etsy and worked as a freelancer, juggling multiple side hustles. Over the past year, I have been searching for the next step in my life.

Why did I resign?

🥶 Monday Blues

I used to love Mondays because they symbolized a new beginning and a chance to accomplish many things. However, in the past year, I truly experienced the pain of Monday Blues. I can say that I was living one day at a time.

😖 Almost zero income growth

In the past two years, the company’s profits increased significantly, and it went public on Nasdaq last year. However, my salary didn’t increase at all. The reasons they gave were utterly ridiculous.

🚧Too many obstacles

Most of my colleagues were either half-hearted or extremely competitive, which slowed down the execution of plans and limited my space for creativity. Working in such an environment was truly exhausting (mentally).

😎Pursuing dreams without regrets

Before entering the workforce, I gave myself two years to learn, but these two years turned into four. I became too comfortable at this company, but this isn’t the life I want. If I don’t strive while I’m young, then when? Doing what I love and earning an income from it is a beautiful thing.

Now at 30, I have decided to become the founder of a Webflow studio full-time, helping businesses transform their websites with no/low-code solutions.
