1 Month HONEYMOON: A $21K + 552K Miles Adventure

One of the first questions we often get asked is: why did we choose to visit Japan, London, and Switzerland all in one trip? Well, we wanted the best of both worlds—East and West! Plus, it was my first time experiencing the wonders of Western destinations. Also, when will be the next time you get the chance to request for a 1 month holiday leave guilt-free? (Sad I know, the life of a corporate slave)

On top of that, we managed to save 20% on our miles redemption for a non-spontaneous flight!

1️⃣Let's break down our First Class flight with Singapore Airlines if booked separately VS booking it together with Singapore as a layover:

✈️Singapore Airlines First Class

(Separate Booking - Saver):

Tokyo > Singapore: 77,000 miles

Singapore > London: 141,000 miles

Total: 218,000 miles/pax

✈️Singapore Airlines First Class

(Singapore Layover - Saver):

Tokyo > Singapore (Layover) > London :

172,500 miles/pax

⭐️Savings: 45,500 miles/pax (91,000 miles/2pax)

2️⃣ For the return flight from Zurich > Singapore, a known 'hack' is to take a flight to Istanbul, followed by redeeming a 56,500 miles SIA Business Saver flight from Istanbul > Singapore (Savings of 47,000 miles/pax). However for us, we just wanted to have a peaceful direct flight after a long trip, instead of having to do a transfer once more 🥹

It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime trip and we would do it all again if we had the chance to!
