reviewing all about love 🫶

all about love by bell hooks is one of the best books i’ve ever read. but that doesn’t mean it was easy to read.

i read a lot of books at the same time. currently, i’m reading a total of 5–red white and royal blue, call me by your name, devotions, stay true, and tender is the flesh. that being said, it took me a total of 6 months to really read this book because there was so much info that i needed to sit with for a while. i couldn’t stomach it all at once; it was a slow digestion.

all about love completely reframes the way you think about love. if you’ve been in a toxic relationship—whether platonic, romantic, or familial—you’re gonna find this a bit hard to get through as well. but it’s so incredibly written and i really can’t recommend it enough. i think everyone needs to read it at least once in their life, but i’ll definitely be reading it a couple more times.
