Over a course of 2 years, I have tried 3 home-based lash salons, and every one of them either fried my lashes or irritated my eye. I have naturally long but straight lashes so I thought a lash lift would give my lashes a nice curl. Yea the curl was nice for the first 2 - 3 weeks and then signs of them becoming fried starts showing up.

Salon 1: First time, no problem. Second time, lashes became fried after 3 weeks. Lashes poked in all directions, and became L-shaped.

Salon 2: Went twice but both times she left glue residue on my upper eyelids. It made my eyelids stick together and is hard to blink/close my eyes. Took me 3 days to remove the sticky residue cos she said first 24hrs can't touch water. Me blinking weirdly at work for 2 days fk lol. 2nd time I feedback to her and then she vigorously used some (micellar water?) to clean my eyelids. Yes vigorously I kid you not :( I didn't dare to speak up but I swear never to come back here again cos it's really odd that glue is spread on my eyelids?

Salon 3 (photos for this post): Gave me super curled lashes. I should have asked for a natural curl so you can say is my own fault. But she didn't even ask me what curl degree I want. My lashes are very long so having it super curled is very weird, the lashes curled backwards and even touches my upper eyelids. I looked wide awake/surprised always. Maybe some people like this look but personally I don't like it. 3 weeks later, one of my eye have it's lashes all fried. I had to resort to plucking out the fried wonky lashes and even cutting off the ends of some of my lashes. (oh and her male friend was hanging out in the same room while I lay there with my eyes closed. she did ask me if I mind, me being polite I said I didn't mind but errr gurl you're running a business, is this even a question...)

I freaking regret my lash lift. It will probably take another 1 month for new sets of lashes to grow out and I'll never go for another lash lift again. But so sad to my lashes rip. Everyone always post about their lash lift immediately after, it looks pretty, but did yours get fried afterwards? Do you have similar experiences, or is it only me? Please share below.

Moral of the story: Don't just believe the shop's IG page. If you can afford, go to a more established shop.

please don't ask me which salon I went to. sorry I won't name them. #BeReal
