Industrial Hotel x Beach Club Hua Hin ?! 🏝☀️

Here’s another accommodation that I stayed at during my trip to Hua Hin!

• About Sundance Dayclub Hua Hin •

Sundance Dayclub is a hotel and beach club located in the heart of Hua Hin. It’s a minimalistic and industrial kind of hotel and it’s like an open air / resort concept? Like there isn’t air conditioning outside of your room, so the lobby + the walk to your room isn’t air conditioned. The layout is rather unique too! As seen in the 4th slide, each of the grey partitions houses two rooms and I think one of it leads to the rooftop~ There isn’t much to do around the area so I would say it’s quite secluded as well. (same as VALA )

I went in the beginning of march, and this standard king room was going at $159/night for two pax.

• The Room •

- The room is clean and spacious! A lot of natural light as well ; 1/2 of the “walls” of the room were just glass panels 🪟

- Features a bathtub with two huge mirrors to take pretty pictures 📸 > but this was also a problem because one of the mirror faces the bed which auspiciously isn’t good spiritually :(

- Love how they had two selections sinks 🚰 and how their soaps are in refillable pump bottles 🧼 I find it more convenient. BUT there’s no conditioner 😭

- Bed was clean but the pillows were very soft, too soft for me 😵‍💫 and sheets were a little on the rougher side, but not too bad, still can sleep well LOL

- The air conditioner was really noisy tho and worked a little weird, i couldn’t adjust it to my ideal temperature >:( at night it would be too cold and it triggers my sinus, but in the morning it’ll be too hot and stuffy if you don’t put it on blast 🥲

- Though the shower and toilet is “separated” I disliked the layout zzz it made no sense because in order to get to the toilet you’d have to wet your feet from the shower to get in and if someone is showering the other can’t use the toilet… ITS SO WEIRD 🥹

- Toilet has bidet (if it’s a concern to you)

- Same problem as VALA, I can’t find a way to not wet the floor excessively when getting out of the bathtub 🛁

• The Beach Club •

- Beach club access is free for hotel guests and you don’t have to purchase anything to be there :) It features a pool that overlooks the sea 🌊 However, unlike VALA , there isn’t a hotel-owned beach front per se. You’d only have a “beach” during the low tides, but it isn’t accessible via the hotel, you’d prolly have to walk from somewhere else outside.

- On their IG page it seemed like it was a club and party type of place but when i was there were barely anyone and no DJ was seen, it was pretty chill and quiet 🧘‍♀️ but not a problem for me HAHAH

- Okay sooo if you see from the 6th slide, you can see that the color of the pool had a very huge contrast against the sea… it looked really sad 😭 it made the sea look very underwhelming and idk it kind of threw me off when i first visited the beach club 🥸 because it looked different online… so maybe when taking pictures your have to color grade it a little or angle it such that the pool and the sea doesn’t appear together heh…

- It’s a good place to read, chill and talk cock sing song 🎶

• The Food •

- I only dined at the beach club and got the calamari and some tea drink ☕️ the calamari was too salty for me and it was breaded :( personally I prefer the puffy only batter kind of calamari… but the portion was decent ! give it a 7/10 🫦 the drink was unique because there were spices and chocolate in it but i wished the chocolate was a little stronger heh 7.5/10

- My bill came up to $22.22 for the two items, which isn’t THAT affordable considering that my drink WASN’T alcoholic… it was just tea…

- BUT I’D LIKE TO ADD, there’s like 1 for 1 during happy hour (idk what time…) and there’s this lounge area which I didn’t visit because i was too full 🥲 they sell like high tea sets iirc and breakfast which looks yummerzz (defo try it and lmk oki)

• The Experience •

- They served welcome drink which was like a mocktail~ It was too sweet for me thou 😭

- As compared to VALA , the staff wasn’t as well versed in english which posed a little challenge for me during my stay because there were minor miscommunications! However, it wasn’t like a HUGE problem for me

- The view of the sunrise here is really pretty as well! BUT if you stay in the rooms with no rooftops / sea view you can’t watch it in the comfort of your own room and usually when you wake up to catch the sunrise it’d be dark outside so you’d have to brave enough to walk out on ur own (if you are alone) 😀 the beach club is also not set up on time usually to view the first lights of the sunrise 😭 so that was a bummer… THERE WERE TOO MANY MOSQUITOES in the seated area in front of the pool 🥹 so be sure to wear long sleeves and track pants 🩲

- BUT i love there there’s a random mirror for you to take picture (7th slide) 🪞

• Overall •

- This hotel is a totally different vibe from VALA , and having stayed at VALA first, this hotel felt a little more underwhelming :( but it could also be that it was non-peak period? and thus it felt a little more under maintained if you gets…

- I’d still recommend you to probably come here for the beach club and chill since there isn’t much to do in Hua Hin (correct me if i’m wrong) but lounge and chill

- BUT having said that, i feel like I’d go back just for the other rooms because they look really good too! Like the Sunscape Rooms (https://www.sundanceth.com/huahin/stay/sunscape-classic-for-2/)

- There are also room for 6 pax so i think if you’re coming with a big group this is an ideal place to stay hehe, it’s also more teenager friendly i feel, more hipster 😗😗
