Hey Zestiess, here's another productive itinerary which me and my friends had covered in our 3d2n Penang trip!
๐๏ธDay 1: Check-in ๐ , Explore Hin Bus Depot ๐, Night Market
โข We boarded a one way trip via AirAsia to Penang in the morning and touched down in an hours time (really fast game)! Prior to checking-in, we had lunch first as the check-in time is 3pm. After settling down in our Airbnb (๐218 Tropicana Macalister Condominium - high rating โญ and guest's favourite๐คฉ in Airbnb app!), we then headed to Hin Bus Depot and start exploring the place. Almost the entire afternoon was spent exploring Georgetown - including the iconic white building (4th pic) as well as the umbrella street (4th pic as well) etc.
โข When night falls, we had dinner at ๐Chulia Night Street Market) and ordered jus 3 local food (5th pic) as we r all so very full from all the snacks and drinks whilst exploring Georgetown๐ตโ๐ซ (Rating of the food: 3/5).
โข EOD, we went for a quick massage ๐โโ๏ธ around our airbnb area and then bought sojus and chips on our way back.
๐๏ธDay 2: Local cuisine, Thrift Shopping๐๏ธ, Water Sports๐, Bar๐ป๐ฏ๐ฑ
Morning:
We started off the day by indulging in some Assam Laksa ๐ and popiah (spring rolls)it was sooo good ๐ฏ as we all wanted to not get full so easily, all the food was being shared - save $$$ + increase effectiveness too, knowing we dont have to each order a main for ourselves jus to truly taste the flavour ๐ค ๐ we then went to the ๐Famous Cha Kuay Teow at Penang Rd, i mean ofc they serve other local food too HAHA we ate cha kuay teow (4โญ/5), oyster omelette (3โญ5) & chendol (5โญ/5)!
Afternoon:
We headed off to several thrift shops but this one (7th pic - ๐Ken'Yaku) really caught my eye as the clothes they sell were v different from the other thrift shops we went prior. They offer really good quality apparels ๐งฅ๐ (both men and women) at super affordable prices! I bought a polo ralph lauren shirt at only $17 sgd! the material and the fit are amazing, a solid ๐ฏ fr. However on the second floor (7th pic), prices are abit on the pricier side but if you rly want it, js get it - they had many nice apparels ranging from sweaters and shirts to cargo pants ๐ and beanies!
Once shopping is done, we headed off to ๐Chew Boat Jetty ๐ถ to explore. Took a few pictures of the jetty and we headed off to๐Batu Ferringhi Beach ๐๏ธ for the long-awaited water sports! we played banana boat (10mins ish) & Jetski (a solid 20mins) if we had more time we would hv went for the parasailing ๐ช but next time it is!
Night:
Dinner was at this tiktok-inspired cafe called ๐Oceano Symphony. The vibes were immaculate AF with the sunset dawning, waves crashing and beautiful interior of this cafe, you wouldn't want to miss this cafe ๐ we ordered calamari, fish and squid-ink linguine. The linguine is a MUST-TRY the flavours were bursting in our mouth and it was a solid 10โญ/10. Fish and calamari were good too. Not feeling full enough, we went to eat (dinner round 2) at this oyster bar ๐ฆช and restaurant (pic was not included) we had the octopus, some pork pesto and vongole (clams) soup. All were pretty bombz ๐
EOD, we enjoyed our fullest at๐Stag Bar (second last pic). This was one hell of a bar that rly BLOWS MY MIND the interior was sophisticated (in a pretty way) and they had many games to play too! - pool, beer pong , basketball๐, darts๐ฏ etc. WE PLAYED EVERY SINGLE GAME as each game only cost between 2&6RM how cheap is that! a good 2hrs was spent there jus drinking and playing all at the same time. Before heading back to our Airbnb, we ate Loklok (a stone's throw away from our airbnb) - ๐Loklok Plus, Rating: 3.5โญ/5)
๐๏ธ Day 3: Last day - more thrift shopping, seafood dinner
On our last day, we spent the morning sleeping as we all slept 5am+ the previous night (or shd I say morning oops) Afternoon was then spent touring around the other thrift shops. Fast-forwarding to evening, we ate kuay chap at a random roadside and then headed off for our last dinner in Penang - ๐Holy Crab. The crabs as well as the other seafood dishes we ordered (oyster, tiger prawns, seafood platter) were all pretty good! Rating: 4.8โญ/5) EOD, we headed to the airport and took Scoot en route back to SG.
In Summary:
We did follow our itinerary BUT we had a alot of improvisations throughout the entire trip and i hv zero regrets. Sometimes last-min plans are the best plans! Also, all food places were directly from Google Maps - reviews are important !! Having come to a unanimous decision was also crucial if you're traveling w a group of friends. Luckily for me, there's only 3 of us, hence making the planning easier. With that, to sum it all up, I'll give a ๐ฐ price breakdown of the entirety of this trip.
โ๏ธ Flight Tickets: $140/pax (round trip)
๐๏ธ Airbnb: $31/pax for 2 nights (what a steal)
๐ Food: $160
๐ Grabs: $13+/pax
๐ฒ Activities: $113/pax
Total Expenditure: ๐ฐ$460 ish/pax (for me at least - as you need to take into account of your own spendings too e.g. shopping, snacks to bring home etc.)
If not, stay tuned for more traveling itineraries and happy traveling !!
