Finally trying this cafe that went viral - it’s gd

Glasshouse cafe has went viral many times on multiple platforms because of their glasshouse/nature aesthetic and yummy food. I finally went down to Chijmes (their og outlet) to try it!! It’s located right beside Hvala which is famous for their matcha.

First impression of the place, I didn’t expect it to be so small and packed. From the pictures and videos, I was expecting a much more spacious space with more greens. We were lucky to get the high tables because in my opinion, it was much more spacious than the low tables.

We tried

•Breakfast burger (8.5/10)

Chewy bagel in replacement of your normal burger buns, with sunny side up, bacon, hash browns and avocado. Pretty balanced and flavourful.

•Classic salmon (8.5/10)

Generous amount of smoked salmon on toasted sourdough. Sourdough was a little too hard for my liking.

•Tater tots (9/10)

Pretty generous amount and deep fried to perfection. Just wished that they sprinkled more salt.

•Iced white (9/10)

Nutty flavour, pretty good.

•Matcha latte (7.5/10)

Pretty smooth, could do more matcha powder though.

Overall, a solid 8.5/10 for this place. Food was great but we did found the place to be too cramped and loud. Also, it was super hot when we were there and we did notice ppl sweating too. The air conditioning wasn’t cold enough I guess.
