Five oars coffee roasters is a melbourne-inspired cafe that went viral a few times on tiktok for their mac and cheese so I had to try it!!! Decided to drive all the way down to upper east coast (from the west🥲) to try it. Went on a Tuesday afternoon and the queue was about 1.5 hours of wait AHHHHH
Let me tell you why it’s not worth queuing 1.5 hours for in sg’s hot and humid weather.
I found the tables to be so closely packed beside one another and there isn’t really a comfortable space to sit down and enjoy my food. (Forgot to take a picture for the seats but it was so crowded and loud)
The food was nice but not that great (i think its overhyped and rather expensive).
•Mentaiko Mac & Cheese
It was nice with lots of mentaiko sauce and cheese but way too gelat for me after a few bites. This was starters but i think its too heavy to be one HAHA
•Pork Benedict
The sourdough was really hard and I think the portion is also really small like this was $22 for one sourdough only🥲
•Spaghetti Carbonara
Not your authentic kind of carbonara but it’s okay. This was one of the better dish with lots of bacon and the dish was rather flavourful.
Overall, the food was not bad but I don’t think it’s worth queuing > 1 hour for HAHHAHA the food is also on the pricer (cafe price) side so take note!!
Side note: i think this Melbourne inspired cafe in jb is waayy nicerr HAHHAA
