Bukit Kiara Federal Park is a ‘green lung’ area located in the middle of a high-density urban area of Kuala Lumpur. This 404.2-acre park has its history. This area has been allocated as a green area to be developed as a National Arboretum. The National Landscape Department took over the management and maintenance of the Bukit Kiara Federal Park from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall. This park is divided into 2 different zones, the first zone is Arboretum Zone and the second one is Family Recreation Zone. Arboretum Zone covers about 65% of the total area of Bukit Kiara Federal Park. It will house a ‘living museum’ for a collection of tropical plants, especially species of forest trees and tropical plants. The Equatorial Tropical Zone – Asia consists of woody forest species among Asian Pacific countries including from India to South China, Malaysia, and Indonesia to Mainland Australia. Arboretum Zone's entrance will be Jalan Changkat Abang Haji Openg. Family Recreation Zone or officially known as Taman Rekreasi Lembah Kiara. It is called TTDI Park by locals. There is a master plan for Bukit Kiara Federal Park to be divided into 6 Development Zones. This dvelopment is based on current surface conditions and inventory on site. Family Recreation Zone's entrance will be Jalan Abang Haji Openg.
