Vintage 70s Photos to do at home! 💅🏾🎀👱🏾‍♀️✨🌸

@I wasn’t born in the 70s but if I was around back then… I would have so many of these pictures!

Ok, so.. back in the day people actually went to the mall and got photos taken. The biggest proprietor of this double exposure style was a photo studio called Olan Mills. They made this style of photography famous..

So firstly, understand the roots finds sone inspiration. A lot of people used these as family portraits or they were humorously shot. Pick your style. I took these photos for my birthday. I wanted to sort of “set the tone” for the remainder of the year. When I thought about my year, ghetto fabulous came to mind…so that’s what I wanted to emulate.

Secondly, your photo set up. Trust me, I had the most rinky dinky photo set up. I found a black fabric from HobbyLobby for 2$ a yard! Think cheap! Whatever you do, find a dark (black) background. Dollar tree has black plastic tablecloths.. or black poster boards..all for $1.25! It does not have to be expensive.. whatever lights you have, use! Take your lamp shade off.. set it up on one side.. you want a lot of lighting from one side- it’s where your head will be facing. Use another lamp on the opposite side of 3/4 away from your face on the other side.. this is called fill lighting. It will help with lighting your features on the other side of you. But as always.. use what you have! And make it work!

Lastly, download the Snapseed app! It’s a photo editing app that allows you to make these kinda pictures. They have different filters. I think some of the best filters they have give your photos a retro/ vintage feeling. Play around with the app to get the perfect look and feel for what you were going for!
