Not gatekeeping the best meal I had in Japan

MORITAYA -This was the best meal/sukiyaki I had in Japan

This place was highly recommend on 小红书 and I can understand why!!

We ordered sake and the sukiyaki set for 2 pax (which comes with appetisers and refillable rice). The total bill came up to around $400++ sgd

Before you jump at the price, hear me out…

1) Moritaya was founded as the first beef specialty store in Kyoto and they have been serving for more than 150 years. This place lives up to its name, the Wagyu served here is incredible 🥹

2)You get a private room and the sukiyaki is prepared in front of you by the staff. This is a one of a kind experience and the staff will also educate you on how to eat it 🍽️

3) The appetisers are all so good and I was so stuffed!!

The only downside, you’ll have to make a reservation in advance as they are quite popular.

They have a couple of outlets but this was the outlet I went to: 521 Nishikiinokumacho, Nakagyoku, Kyoto 604-8363 Kyoto Prefecture
