hey Zesties! 🍋 i recently caught the travel bug and booked a short getaway to Taiwan with my bestie and she was lucky enough to win the Taiwan Tourism Bureau's voucher program worth 5,000 TWD (approximately SGD 220 🤯 #/mummychristie). i wanted to share the steps with you and a little hack to increase your winning chances! 📈

step 1: register online ➡️ click here to register!

first things first, make sure to register online on their official website in the link above ☝️ you'll need to do this between one to seven days prior to your arrival date in Taiwan 🇹🇼

⚠️ you can’t register on the day of your flight itself

step 2: fill in your travel information

when registering, make sure to provide accurate travel information, especially your name and passport number 🪪 double-check everything to avoid any errors cause trust me, you don't want to miss out on this amazing opportunity due to a simple mistake! 😰

step 3: choose your voucher type

now comes the fun part! 🤗 you’ll get to choose how you would like to redeem your 5,000 TWD and there are two options available:

1️⃣ electronic tickets (EasyCard and iPass)

i highly recommend this one because it offers maximum flexibility as with the 5,000 TWD value stored in an EasyCard or iPass, you can spend it at over 10,000 designated merchants 🤩 this includes public transport, popular stores like 7-11, FamilyMart, Watsons, and more! 🛍️

⚠️ but take note that each transaction has a limit of 1,000 TWD, and you can use up to 3,000 TWD per day

2️⃣ accommodation discounts

if you prefer a more traditional approach, you can choose accommodation discount vouchers 🙆‍♀️ you’ll receive five vouchers worth 1,000 TWD each and these vouchers can be used once by the winner at hotels with tourist hotel business licenses and registered commercial hotels or hostels 🏨

⚠️ just keep in mind that these vouchers cannot be reused or resold

👉 so this was an unintentional hack that my best friend discovered 🧐 because she was afraid she sent in the wrong information, and being kiasu, she registered a total of 3 times.. and cause of this ‘error’ she got 3 QR codes to scan. so on the day itself, i went first to scan my QR code and did not win anything and my bestie who went next also didn’t win it 🥲 but she realised that she received emails for her other 2 extra submissions and thought of just giving them a try without any expectations and to our surprise, the QR codes worked and she won on her second QR code 😱 so thanks to her carelessness and kiasu-ness we got free $ for our trip 🥹 so you can try this out on your own discretion and submit multiple entries to improve your odds of winning, don’t say bojio! 😳
