🎀 things to do before 2024

☁️ Here are some simple tips on how to start your 2024 with a fresh mindset ! I always make sure to prioritise doing this during the holiday period as it feels therapeutic to unwind + clean my space and devices to prepare for a new year.

🧹 declutter your space

Whether it’s your desk/study/work area, room, closet, office, home, etc ~ decluttering your space by identifying items you no longer need/need to replace, re-organising and more can help refresh your mind for next year! It’s a first step to renewing which will help you approach the new year with a clean mindset reflected with a clean space.

🖥 clean files & storage

If you worked a lot on your devices this year, it’s time to go through all your files and see what you can remove or upload elsewhere to save storage space for next year. For example, as a student, I usually upload the most important aspects of projects I’ve worked on throughout the year onto an online drive (like Google Drive or Onedrive) or even a USB and re-organise my folders for my 2024 subjects.

📕Journal & reflect

Reflecting on the year before is incredibly important so we can identify what went well and what we can do differently for the new year. I feel like the year can sometimes feel like a blur so sitting down and setting some valuable time aside to dive into your key learnings, achievements this year & goals for next year can help you feel a sense of clarity and closure.

✨ Set up a 2024 planner

I really recommend this if you want to optimise your productivity next year! Digital journalling specifically has really changed my life so I recommend looking into notion (my favourite) or any other digital journaling software to create or use an existing template. This is great especially if you’re really busy as digital journaling is a lot more efficient.

📸 Clean your camera roll

And finally, let’s save some storage space by going through our camera roll and deleting what you don’t need! You can also use tools like Minus Photos to make this more efficient.
