Gion Duck Noodle found us 😂

Hello hello~ it’s been some time since my last post cos… life happened and I just didn’t feel like creating posts anymore. But here am I!!! Reminiscing my japan spring holiday last year brought me here cos I really want to document this unplanned visit to Gion Duck Noodle.

To be exact - we weren’t even looking for it. It was our first time in Kyoto and we were just google mapping for some place in Gion. But whenever we type Gion the top suggested result is always “Gion Duck Noodle” and this piqued our curiosity so we went looking for the secluded alley.

It was dark and there was a queue already even though it just opened for dinner. I absolutely loved the duck rice because of the amazing dashi broth they served at the end of your meal so you can finish off dashi/chazuke style. The duck slices are also unlike anything I’ve had before (seldom do I eat duck cooked in a western style) so so tender!

It’s always so nice to be pleasantly surprised by good eating spots found unexpectedly :) makes the experiences and memories even sweeter!!
