Take a Hike!

I know we all love our phones and might even be a little addicted to this lemon8 app right now. But sometimes…don’t you ever just want to chuck it at a wall? Just me?

When I get in the mode where I’m either TOO attached to my phone or just can’t stand it, I know I need an outdoor break. Whether you’re in Michigan or Alaska, I’m sure there’s a hiking trail near you. And if not, just walk it out! A little fresh air always does the body good.

One of my favorite hikes (possibly ever) is the one pictured above. There’s nothing like leaving social media at home and packing up for a day long hike. Here’s some tips and tricks if you’re thinking about going on a long hike:

-Always bring a pack with the following:

•snacks and/or full meals depending on how long your hike is

•Enough water for an overnight trek

•An extra pair of socks

•a flashlight

•handwritten notes/map of the trail

•a safety tool that you’re comfortable with, whether that is pepper spray or something more/less

•a journal!
